Our story
Why we started in Calgary
BowTel started with one host, four listings, and a conviction that direct booking should be simple. That host was our founder, Uvaraj — a Calgary-based property owner who built the platform because he needed it himself. What began as a personal solution became something he couldn't keep to himself.
The short-term rental industry gave hosts and guests something genuinely valuable — a way to connect that didn't exist before. But somewhere along the way, the platforms moved from facilitating that connection to sitting in the middle of it. BowTel is built to step back out of the way. Hosts and guests connect directly. Fees are transparent on both sides. Nobody pays for what they can't see.
Our model is deliberately transparent. Hosts list for free and keep every dollar of their nightly rate. Guests pay a small, fixed service fee — shown in full before they confirm. No hidden charges, no percentage commissions, no surprises.
