Acceptable Use Policy

13.1 Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy outlines conduct that is prohibited on the BowTel Platform. By using the Services, you agree to comply with this policy.

13.2 Prohibited Activities

You must not use the Platform to:

13.2.1 Illegal Activities

Violate any applicable federal, provincial, municipal, or international law;
Facilitate or promote illegal drug use, trafficking, or manufacturing;
Facilitate prostitution, human trafficking, or exploitation;
Facilitate money laundering or terrorist financing;
Operate an unlicensed short-term rental where licensing is required.

13.2.2 Fraud and Misrepresentation

Create fraudulent listings or fake accounts;
Misrepresent your identity or relationship to a property;
Use stolen payment methods or financial instruments;
Manipulate reviews, ratings, or search rankings;
Engage in bait-and-switch practices (advertising one property and providing another);
Circumvent BowTel's payment system to avoid fees.

13.2.3 Harmful Content

Post content that is threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene, or hateful;
Post sexually explicit content;
Post content that promotes violence or discrimination;
Post content that infringes intellectual property rights;
Post spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional material.

13.2.4 Platform Abuse

Attempt to gain unauthorized access to BowTel's systems, accounts, or data;
Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful technology;
Scrape, crawl, or data-mine the Platform without authorization;
Interfere with the proper functioning of the Platform;
Create multiple accounts to circumvent restrictions or bans;
Contact other Users outside the Platform to circumvent BowTel's payment or messaging systems.

13.2.5 Unsafe Hosting

List properties with known safety hazards;
Install hidden cameras or surveillance devices in private spaces (bedrooms, bathrooms) — this is a criminal offence under the Criminal Code of Canada;
Violate fire safety codes or occupancy limits;
Fail to disclose material property hazards (e.g., lead paint, asbestos, pest infestations).

13.3 Reporting Violations

Report violations to charter@bowtel.vacations or through the Platform's reporting feature. All reports are investigated confidentially.

13.4 Consequences

Violations may result in:

Content removal;
Warning;
Account suspension (temporary or permanent);
Cancellation of bookings;
Forfeiture of payouts;
Reporting to law enforcement;
Legal action.
