16.1 Scope
This policy governs all content posted by Users on the Platform, including listing descriptions, photographs, reviews, messages, and profile information.
16.2 General Content Standards
All content on the Platform must:
(a) Be truthful and not misleading;
(b) Be relevant to the Platform's purpose;
(c) Respect the rights and dignity of others;
(d) Comply with all applicable laws.
16.3 Prohibited Content
The following content is prohibited:
- False, misleading, or deceptive information;
- Discriminatory, hateful, or harassing content;
- Sexually explicit or obscene content;
- Content promoting violence or illegal activity;
- Spam, unsolicited commercial content, or advertising;
- Personal information of others (doxxing);
- Content that infringes intellectual property rights;
- Content that violates anyone's privacy.
16.4 Review Guidelines
16.4.1 Review Eligibility
Only Users who have completed a stay may leave a review for that booking. Both Guests and Hosts may review each other.
16.4.2 Review Period
Reviews may be submitted within 14 days after checkout. After this period, the review opportunity expires.
16.4.3 Blind Review System
During the review period, reviews are hidden from the other party until:
(a) Both parties have submitted their reviews; or
(b) The 14-day review period expires.
This ensures honest, unbiased feedback.
16.4.4 What Makes a Good Review
- Focus on your actual experience;
- Be specific about what was good and what could be improved;
- Be fair and balanced;
- Mention relevant details that would help future Guests or Hosts.
16.4.5 Prohibited in Reviews
- Content unrelated to the stay;
- Discrimination or bias based on protected characteristics;
- Threats or coercion (e.g., “I'll leave a bad review unless you refund me”);
- Personal attacks;
- Information that could identify the exact property location;
- Advertising or spam;
- False statements of fact.
16.4.6 Review Removal
BowTel may remove reviews that violate this policy. Review removal requests may be submitted to zenith@bowtel.vacations with an explanation of the violation. BowTel will review removal requests within 10 business days.
Reviews are generally not removed for:
- Low star ratings alone;
- Opinions the Host or Guest disagrees with;
- Honest negative feedback.
16.5 Listing Content
16.5.1 Photographs
- Must accurately depict the current condition of the property;
- Must be taken at the actual property (no stock photos or photos from other properties);
- Must not contain watermarks, borders, or promotional text;
- Must not contain people's faces without their consent;
- Must be high enough resolution to be informative.
16.5.2 Descriptions
- Must accurately describe the property, amenities, and surrounding area;
- Must disclose any material limitations or issues;
- Must not contain misleading information;
- Must not include contact information or links to external booking sites.
16.6 Content Moderation
BowTel moderates content through a combination of:
- Automated systems for detecting prohibited content;
- Human review of flagged content;
- User reports.
Content found in violation of this policy will be removed, and the User may face consequences as outlined in the Acceptable Use Policy.
